Taylor is performing a new song from ‘Red’ at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards

Taylor just said on BBC Radio 1 that on Sunday at the award show she is going to perform a new song she hasn’t performed before. (Not sure if this means she’ll perform Begin Again, Red, or something new.)

Swift and Mayer’s icy meet

The battle between John Mayer and Taylor Swift nearly came to a head Tuesday at West Hollywood’s starry Tower Bar, when the ex-lovers unexpectedly and uncomfortably came face-to-face.

The confrontation came about at the same time Mayer told Rolling Stone this week that Swift’s song “Dear John,” reportedly about him, was “a really lousy thing” to do, “cheap songwriting,” humiliating and “bull[bleep].”

Swift, 22, entered the Tower Bar at Jeff Klein’s Sunset Tower Hotel on Tuesday night, and, a spy tells Page Six, it was “drama central” when the blond superstar was about to be seated and noticed that her onetime beau Mayer, 34, was dining with a friend nearby.

“Taylor very visibly — in front of the entire restaurant — demanded to be moved to the other side,” our spy said. “The bar’s usually an oasis of calm and privacy for celebrities and power players, but this was drama central.”

Also spotted amid the unusual Tower Bar tension Tuesday were Klein with NBC head Robert Greenblatt, “The Amazing Spider-Man” co-stars and off-screen couple Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, Sharon Stone, Scarlett Johansson and “Something’s Gotta Give” director Nancy Meyers.

Adding to the drama that night were “a gaggle of ladies at the bar who were acting rowdy,” and approached Stone and Garfield’s table. They were asked to leave, and one diner was overheard sniffing, “What do those girls think this is? The Soho House?”

Swift and Mayer were briefly linked in 2010 before she released her 2010 poison-pen ditty “Dear John” — with lyrics, “You are an expert at sorry/and keeping the lines blurry.” She never confirmed it was about the notorious ladies’ man.

But Mayer, who’s publicly bashed ex-lovers from Jessica Simpson to Jennifer Aniston, says in Rolling Stone, “I never did anything to deserve that [song]. It was a really lousy thing for her to do … I know she’s the biggest thing in the world, [but] that’s bull[bleep].”

Holy awkward. Can you imagine, the day after the Rolling Stone article about to get seated and you see him sitting there, I don’t see the problem in her demanding to be seated at the other side of the restaurant, must’ve been really nerve-wracking.

Country superstar tells MTV News that 2012 project has ‘a theme.’

This year proved to be another amazing one for Taylor Swift. She just wrapped up the U.S. leg of her Speak Now Tour, released her new Wonderstruck perfume and unveiled her video for “Ours.” But now, Swift has her sights set on an even bigger 2012.

Swift is gearing up to release her fourth album, and in an October interview, she revealed that her new songs were not about “moving on.” So when MTV News caught up with the country star at the Billboard Women in Music event, we had to ask which emotions were triggering such a personal album.

“I can’t tell you, because it’s a secret,” Swift teased. “It will be unveiled when it all comes out, because they all seem to have a theme to them, the records that we’ve put out so far, and this one is no different. It’s very different in what it’s about, but it’s no different in the fact that it has its own name.” Swift was on hand at the event with another honoree, Nicki Minaj, who is also set to release her new album in 2012, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

“I love her,” Swift said of Minaj. “One of my favorite moments of the tour was when she came out at the Staples Center and sang ‘Super Bass’ with me, which was, like, the coolest thing. It was like a dream come true, so it’s amazing to get to run into her and see her around, and I’m just such a fan.” So would Swift possibly collaborate with Minaj on her next album? “I mean, we’re not working on anything right now,” Swift said. “But I would love to at some point. That would be amazing.”
